The first thing you notice when driving up to The Gregory is the long porch with the big hanging ferns, in season. Enjoy relaxing on the porch swing while reading a book or enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the deer roam the neighborhood at the cafe table. Park in the large circular driveway or pull down the side of the home. Head into the home and you'll fall in love with the open concept and large spacious rooms. The home comes with wifi and televisions in every bedroom. The living room T.V. offers Netflix. The master bedroom is spacious and has a large bath with a shower, corner whirlpool and corner double sink vanity. The second king bedroom is also very roomy. The third bedroom is a twin over full bunk designed for kids. Of course the kitchen and dining areas are great and there's a lengthy bar area where everyone can enjoy visiting. Walk out the rear slider onto the back deck where the gas grill is located. If you prefer, go sit in the cabana, turn on the fan and enjoy the evening. If it's chilly or you simply want a fire, light one with the complimentary stack of firewood. Maybe roast some marshmallows or make smores. Either way you're sure to bond with family or friends. Head up the road a short distance to the lake and your own private section of pier. you have a 14'x20' dock to use as well as a fish cleaning station. One of the best parts has to be the kayaks. The cove is small and sheltered (though caution should be used) and perfect for the adventurous souls to explore. People exploring the cove may see birds, deer and beaver. It's very undeveloped and pristine. Houston County Lake is a beautiful quiet lake nestled in the woods of East Texas. We consider it one of the areas best kept secrets and think you'll agree. Lakeside is our largest and most spacious home. It sets on two lake lots, has a Gazebo and it's very own boat house. The water side of the home has a massive wrap around porch that seems to invite you to sit and enjoy the lake sunsets and wildlife. Ceiling fans and abundant sitting areas make it the perfect spot to eat or play games. The landscape is very attractive with a stone walkway leading to the lake and a stunning display of spring Azaleas and various flowering plants. A switch turns on the pump that recirculates lake water from the top of the stone walk. The water cascades down the river, under two small bridges back to the lake. This area abutts a quiet section of the wrap around porch making it the perfect place to enjoy the sound of the water while reading or enjoying coffee and family conversation. The home faces west and the sunsets are phenomenal. The trees provide shade and the many fans cool the outside temperatures. Of course, a dip in the lake will help keep you cool off even more. The 7 bedrooms and large upper game-room accommodate groups up to (but not exceeding) 22. We have additional homes adjacent to Lakeside for larger groups. Please look at our 3d floor plans for layout of the home. It does have a washer/dryer, two refrigerators, televisions in every bedroom with cable. The home has wireless internet, with Netflix in the L.R. and Game room. All linens and towels are provided. The Kitchen offers a Kuerig (bring kcups) regular coffee maker (we offer coffee and filters) and a good assortment of utensils in the kitchen. The outside decks, docks and covered porches are too numerous to list but, you can see them in the pictures! The covered boathouse offers a slip with plenty of tie offs for multiple boats, there are GFCI protected outlets for charging batteries. Theres a roomy covered sitting area with lights, fans as well as a large attached dock is the perfect place for that cool lake swim or catching some rays. Utilize the provided kayaks and assorted boats and explore this hidden gem of a lake. We are located in a cove far enough away from the main lake where wave action and boat noise is almost non existent. This 4 bedroom homes has all the amenities and comforts of a fine home. As is the case with all our houses there is no carpet to trap allergens. All our floors are tile and laminate (wood) flooring. The Counters in Henry's are granite, in the baths as well as the kitchen. The home has two full bathtubs with showers. Henry's is a lakeview home. Henrys has an assortment of beautiful decks to spread out on. Whether you choose to grill, soak up some sun or eat some food you just prepared on the grill, you'll love the colorful yard and plantings. The upper deck measures 14'x24' with a lower 12'x12' area and a firepit area you see in the photos. The front porch is a great spot to sit and enjoy your view of the lake. If it's warm outside, turn on the fans as you relax and enjoy the sunset and beautiful view. While Henry's doesn't set directly on the water it comes with a walkway down to it's own private section of pier. It's a great place to swim, boat or fish. There's a fish cleaning station if you feel inclined to cook your catch! The walkway and all the decks are lighted which creates a beautiful look and makes it easy to traverse at night. Houston County Lake (not to be confused with Lake Houston) is a spring fed lake that normally stays cool and close to a constant level in all but the driest of years. After a day playing on the water and enjoying the complementary kayaks it's time to head up to the home, maybe get a fire going, roast some marshmallows and make smores. It's a great place to bond with family and friends while unwinding. The homes interior is very nice, open and clean. The living room has two full sized couches as well as an easy chair. The two bath home has tiled bath/shower units with tiled floors. As is the case with all our homes they are full time rentals and have no carpet in them. You never have to feel as though you are invading someones private home they rent out when they're not using it. The kids, and young at heart may enjoy a game of basketball on our mini full court. Crockett and the surrounding area is hilly and heavily wooded. There are a multitude of State Parks, National forest and small towns with one of a kind restaurants. Pats Place sleeps up to 14 people (strict adherence to occupancy limits please) Pats place has two Master Bedrooms, each with their own entrance to private areas attached to the main deck. The Main deck has a large cover, a gas grill, table, fans and lighting. The main deck is high up in the tree canopy. It sets 50 or more feet above the lake, the lake is less than 100 feet away. As you might imagine, this makes for incredible views as well as near constant breezes. When people look over the edge of the main deck rail, it is not uncommon to see one's jaw drop in amazement. It is truly a sight to behold, simply massive amounts of decking and dock areas. The cantilevered deck that hangs over the side of the "cliff" always draws a lot of attention. So many places to hide away and enjoy a good book or a little "me" time with a tablet and a cup of coffee,. As you head towards the normally cool spring fed waters of Houston county lake you'll walk past the fire-pit and it's paver patio. Continue on and you'll see a large dock area with a cabana,the perfect for enjoying some sunbathing, or perhaps a game of cards, there are two boat slips, a fish cleaning station and night lights for fishing. Of course the cabana with fans is a great place to sit while the kids kayak and enjoy a swim. The outside is so awe inspiring, it is easy to forget the inside of Pats Place, it is certainly worthy of description. The home is built of a fairly steep hill. When I built it I was told by others there's no way you can build on that lot. They were wrong, it was a project but it worked out to be a stunning display of decking. When you walk into Pat's the large upper area is the main area while you walk downstairs to the lower level. Kids seem to love the lower level. As you walk in the front door there is a room with a card table and a sitting area for those times you want some "alone time". Tied into that area are the washer and dryer, they can be closed off from the main home. The home is very open and large in it's feel. The kitchen has granite counter tops with an island that is extended to add more dining or socializing room in addition to the bar top behind the sink peninsula. The built in refrigerator is complemented with a smaller island fridge for the kids drinks or adult beverages. Local catering is available upon request (advanced notice required) for those who want to take the night off from cooking. The living area has two couches as well as two chairs. The kitchen bar is situated so larger groups can all converse with people in the L.R. As you go down the stairs to the game-room there are two futons There is a full bathroom connected as well as a beautiful outdoor deck with a picnic table. What may be one of the nicest features of Pat's Place interior are the two Master Bedrooms, each with separate bathroom. As mentioned each bedroom has a 6' door to it's own deck area, as well as table and chairs. All of the bedrooms have 32" flat screen televisions, ceiling fans and linens. Bedroom 3 and 4 are queen beds with their own 32" televisions Bedroom 5 is a double lower bunk with a twin top and 32" television. The game-room can easily be its own semi private bedroom. It has its own bathroom as well as two futons that are best for children. All of our homes have no carpeting. With cleanliness and allergy issues we decided it was healthier to tile and install wood style laminate throughout the homes.

Creekside is the perfect property for those that want some room to spread out. As you approach through the gate and take your first corner on the driveway you'll see the house setting near the edge of a bluff. The home is neat, modern and well stocked for your stay. Go in, unload and get ready to play. The property has several smaller trails that are perfect for supervised children to explore. Search for the spring that appears out the side of a hill and disappears again into the ground. See if the kids can find the conjoined tree. A tree connected by a big root where one side is dead and the other flourishing. Find the fern gardens and take note how much cooler it is with the springs feeding the ferns water. One thing you'll notice is the bridge across the creek, which incidentally never runs dry. Cross the creek and you're on a dirt road that loops or takes you to the lake which is approx. 7/10th's of a mile away. Of course you'll want to continue exploring the property before venturing away. Walk up the steep hill or go back a ways and take the easy hill.....you'll come up near the deck that overlooks what people have named "Fern Gulley". The walk back to the house area lights up at night so sitting on either of the two large decks is a matter of choice. There are almost two climate zones on this property. firstly you have the lower wet lands and then the drier upper woodlands where you'll actually find species of cacti. We have also been told by a number of birders that the viewing is quite impressive. Creekside has room to store and turn a trailer on the "sound" coleche driveway. Sit under the cabana and enjoy the breeze from the lake and ceiling fans while relaxing with a tablet or book. You could go down to the huge dock that sets over the lake and play in the water with your own complimentary kayaks or floats you bring along with you (often times we have left overs in the lower shed. Houston County Lake is a spring fed lake that stays close to level in all but the direst of times. Maybe you'll bring your own boat (or invite a friend that has one :-)) for fishing or recreational boating, the main part of the lake is a short 3 minute ride and great for wake boarding etc.. Fishing off the dock is a favorite with the kids as well as the parent that's okay with relaxing on your own dock. During the warmer months the Sunfish and Perch are plentiful and are easily caught by the youngest of anglers using corn or worms. If you like to eat what's caught you have your own private fish cleaning station. The young, and young at heart are sure to engage in a competitive basketball game on our "almost" full court (bring muscle rub for the older folks) a short distance from Awesome View. At the end of the day it's time to head back to the Awesome View and fire up the gas grill, which is connected to a large tank which means you won't run out of gas in the middle of a meal. As the evening creeps in sit on the deck or dock and witness some of the best sunsets! The westerly exposure makes the decks and docks an excellent vantage point to enjoy natures finest paintings. As it gets darker it's time to get the kids, light the fire and make S'mores around the outdoor pit. The home comes with a complimentary stack of firewood. The home has three bedrooms. Let's start upstairs. The Master is a queen and has a private third level balcony. It's a favorite with many that like to sip coffee and look at the lake or read. It's a unique feeling to be sipping coffee 50+ feet above the lake. All the bedrooms have 32" televisions with cable. The second queen faces the front of the home (street side) and has a balcony overlooking the front gardens. It should be noted, the roads are very lightly traveled, well maintained dirt country roads. The tar county road is less than 2/10'ths of a mile away and the state highway, which is also lightly traveled is two miles away. Hey, you're in the country! There is a shared Bathroom for the two upper bedrooms Both Bathrooms are tiled showers. As you head down stairs you are in the living room which offers Netflix and a few other programs. The Dining Room sets to the side where you can mingle with people in the Kitchen or Living Room. The D.R. has a larger table that will accommodate your group. The Kitchen has all the utensils and appliances one needs to cook most meals. The counter tops are granite tile. There is lower Bathroom with granite vanity top and a tiled shower. Across from the Bathroom is the utility room with washer and dryer. The third Bedroom is a full over twin bunk. All bedrooms have 32" televisions with cable. Awesome View is located on a very quiet area of the lake. There are some stumps that eliminate most boat traffic. Fishing boats on trolling motors frequent the area leaving the noise of Jet skis and powerboats to the open areas, and yes, we love it this way. There is an easy channel access to the main lake that is a 3 minute ride. The home is equipped with complimentary kayaks (please wear life jackets at all times). We provide some but strongly suggest you bring your own, especially for kids and non swimmers.

Lakefront property on Houston County Lake with two 600 SQ ft cabins. Each cabin can sleep up to eight in two bedrooms and a loft and they rent separately. Beds: Queen in Master, bunk Full Size in guest, two twins in the loft. Sheets, blankets, pillows, and towels are provided for each cabin. Shared outdoor kitchen with a BBQ pit, sink, electrical outlets, and countertop. The last 5 miles of the drive are on a "Red Dirt Road" and it can be bumpy or even slippery if it's rained recently. I've never heard of any issues in any vehicles but it's definitely a county road. You will leave with red dirt on your vehicle but that's part of the appeal, the secluded getaway :) The main driveway is pretty steep but hasn't caused any issues. There are 3 alternate routes so any vehicle will be fine. Once you start down the driveway you'll see the lake through the trees and it makes the rough 5-mile ride worth it.

Logan Springs Ranch is 142 acres of trees, trails, creeks and springs. A beautiful property for hiking, fishing or just relaxing. The 2140 sq. ft. home sits on top of hill overlooking a 5 acre lake. The back deck and screened in porch offer wonderful views of the lake and property. Lake and 2 ponds for catch and release fishing. Trails throughout the property are great for hiking and exploring. Two kayaks, pedal boat, and two person bass boat with trolling motor, along with life vests, are available for use. Seldom do you find a property that offers access to 142 wooded acres with trails for hiking and a lake for fishing. The house was recently remodeled with all new appliances and top of the line finishes. It has two master bedrooms, each with a private bath and very comfortable king size beds. The sunroom has two sleeper sofas for extra guests. There are two big screen TVs so you can watch the game while the children watch cartoons. The covered deck allows BBQ in all weather and the screened in porch allows you to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs. There is a plant nearby that at times will have some level of noise. We have no control when those times are. You cannot hear it inside the house. Wi-fi is available but may be slow. Service quality varies depending on the provider; Verizon works best. The architectural timber-frame supports along with the interesting dormer windows and 18" wide plank floors will make you think you're staying in a European country estate. You'll sleep soundly under ceiling fans in the aged cedar wood queen bed with pine themed quilt and find a dining area, living area with sofa and recliner, satellite TV service, dresser, granite counter-top kitchenette with convection microwave, all pots and pans and dishes as well as silverware for your convenience. The bathroom has a quaint corner sink and cabinet and you'll love the tumbled granite shower. All the windows have shades for privacy and the night sensing lights as well as the motion sensor security lights will make you feel safe when accessing The Nest by the stone steps and cobblestone walkway at night. The private stocked lake doesn't require a fishing license and has an available fishing pier and mini-pontoon peddle boat with trolling motor. We even have basic fishing gear in case you'd like to try your hand at catching "the big one". You are welcome to stroll all around the lake if you'd like to do a little exploring or get a some exercise. There is a 1 1/2 acre fruit orchard with fig, peach and persimmon trees as well as blackberries, blueberries and raspberries you are welcome to sample if you are staying during fruiting season. There's even a mini-pontoon peddle boat for exploring the lake or for another way to catch the "big one"! Bird Cottage is well named because of all the various species of birds native to the area that as bird lovers we often enjoy, so don't forget your binoculars and camera if you are a bird watcher, too. If you just want to escape all the noise, traffic and bustle of the city and need to recharge your batteries, then relax on the soft cushions of the metal gliders under porch fans with a gentle breeze blowing through your hair and with a good book in your hand and a wine glass nearby, or oversleep in the cozy bedroom until the birds wake you to another wonderful day. The apartment is a converted carriage house for the Queen Ann Victorian house locate on the property. The apartment entrance is locate up a flight of stairs next to the deck. It consists of two floors. The upstairs has the full kitchen and living room. The living room has a large comfy sectional sofa that can double as a bed. The downstairs has the large bedroom with king bed, walk in closet and bathroom. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination, sink, toilet and stacked washer and dryer. All linens and towels are provided.

Our Enchanted Cottage is nestled in rich foliage of flowers and plants with brick patio and spacious yard. Use the private side gate to enter the yard and Cottage is located behind the Grand Main Historical home. Completely private and you will have the main floor of the cottage to sit on the sofa and watch tv or make a snack in the kitchenette. main floor also has a half bath. And sofa pulls out to a King sleeper. The second floor has two twin beds and a queen bed and a full bath.

Our house sits on ten acres out in the beautiful East Texas Piney Woods. Here you can enjoy solitude, wildlife, pine trees, forest bathing, tree hugging, a beautiful view, stargazing, and a comfortable and relaxing home. The house has a master bedroom and master bathroom, two other bedrooms, and one other bathroom. There is also a laundry room with washer and dryer and a game room with a shelf full of games and books. For business travelers, there are office supplies, a land-line for conference calls, and a reliable DSL WiFi connection (10 Mbps download speed). The kitchen is fully equipped, including refrigerator, electric stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, cooking pots and utensils, and dishware. Bath towels and bed linens are supplied. There is central air conditioning and heating, a 48-inch flat-screen TV, and local and long-distance phone service. We do not have cable TV but there is an antenna that picks up local stations and an Apple TV that is available for your own subscription to Netflix, etc. To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we’ve implemented cleaning guidelines based on recommendations from the CDC including a minimum of 48 hours in between guests.
